Description
Sweet, spicy, and saucy Firecracker Ground Chicken with broccoli is an easy 25-minute skillet dinner for rice bowls, lettuce wraps, and meal prep.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon neutral oil, divided
3 cups broccoli florets
1 pound ground chicken
1/3 cup sweet chili sauce
1–2 tablespoons sriracha
2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
Green onions and sesame seeds, optional, for serving
Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
1. Mix the sweet chili sauce, sriracha, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger in a small bowl.
2. Heat half the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté broccoli for 4–5 minutes; add 2 tablespoons water, cover for 1 minute, then transfer broccoli to a plate.
3. Heat the remaining oil in the skillet. Brown the ground chicken for 6–8 minutes, breaking it into small crumbles, until it reaches 165°F.
4. Return broccoli to the skillet, add the sauce, and cook for 2–3 minutes until glossy. Serve over rice with green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
Notes
For a milder dish, start with 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon sriracha and add more at the table.
Ground turkey works as a one-for-one substitute.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3–4 days. Reheat gently with a splash of water.
